Man dies in collision
Appeal for information
Police are appealing for information after a man died in a collision involving a motorcycle and an ambulance.
The accident took place on the A83 Tarbet to Campbeltown road near Lochgair in Mid Argyll on Saturday.
Police investigators are asking any motorists with dash cam footage who were in the area at the time to come forward if they can offer help with the inquiry.
At about 2.30pm a motorcyclist was travelling south when his machine was involved in the collision with the ambulance.
Emergency services attended and the 61-yearold man, believed to be from the Glasgow area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sergeant Paul MacPherson, from the divisional road policing unit based at Dumbarton, said: “I would appeal to anyone who was on the A83 around the time of the crash and may have observed the motorcyclist, who had been travelling in a group, to please come forward.

have footage of the incident or of the vehicles travelling on the road beforehand.

The crash took place on a stretch of road between Lochgair and Minard.
The ambulance involved did not have a patient on board at the time and was not attending an incident. It was returning to its base when the crash took place.
It is understood the Scottish Ambulance Service staff were uninjured.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said they could not comment any further because a police investigation was under way.
Reports on social media said the ambulance went off the road and on to its side.
The road was closed for several hours at Lochgair, which meant a lengthy diversion between Lochgilphead and Inveraray along the single track Loch Awe road from Ford to Portsonachan.
Some motorists living locally used a forest road to get home before the trunk road reopened in the early hours of yesterday.
