Incident delays services

-

Rail services between Aberdeen and Inverness have been delayed following an incident on a northbound train.

ScotRail said a passenger had “caused a disturbance” on one of its services, forcing the journey to be abandoned at around 6pm.

A police spokesman said the man had assaulted a conductor and was then arrested.

The train terminated at Elgin, with passengers apparently urged to remain onboard as British Transport Police officers were called to the scene.

Scotrail said the incident has disrupted later services.
