Souttar loving life under County co-managers

Ross County defender Harry Souttar has been delighted with the impact made by co-managers Steven Ferguson and Stuart Kettlewell.

The pair were confirmed as permanent managers of the Staggies on Tuesday after a brief period in caretaker charge of the club following Owen Coyle’s departure in March.

Under the watch of the duo, County have picked up a win and three draws as they continue to fight against relegation and Souttar believes their elevation is well deserved.

“I think we all knew they deserved to get the permanent role, but everyone is delighted,” he said. “You can see everyone has bought into what they are trying to do. say they have changed everything, because the old gaffer brought me in and I respected him and really liked him.

“Ketts and Ferg have been brilliant with me since they came in, they have spoken to us in a few more one-on-ones and just said to some of the boys who were maybe a bit down, that everyone will be needed, it’s a team effort.

“I don’t think much has changed, we just know the position we are in.

“We were always going to pick up a few results such as the Partick Thistle game and the Hibs game.”

County’s opponents on Saturday, Hamilton, have lost six in a row but manager Martin Canning has told his players their luck will turn if they keep their work-rate up.

He said: “You need a strong mentality and know we need to work hard for everything. The only way to change a bad run is to work hard.”
