HIGHLAND FLING

-

Fancy a fling? Then look out for Matthew Bourne’s Highland Fling, presented by Scottish Ballet and currently touring the Highlands. Affectionately known as a romantic wee ballet, this is Matthew’s interpretation of La Sylphide for the Trainspotting generation - a classical ballet set modern-day Glasgow with a humorous, dark, gothic twist.

Christopher Hampson, CEO and artist director with the ballet company, said: “We are really excited to be bringing Highland Fling to local communities across Scotland, who are often unable to experience our full-scale productions. Logistically it is no small feat – transporting our full set, costumes, props, technical and artistry teams, and of course our dancers – however our partnership with Loganair is making this all possible. “

The ballet can be seen tonight at the Pickaquoy Centre, Kirkwall; at

April 29 and 30, and Lewis Sports Centre, Stornoway, on May 3-4.
