SUNSHINE ON LEITH

Forget what forecasters say, there’s a blast of pure sunshine heading for Aberdeen and Inverness this summer courtesy of the hugely popular musical Sunshine on Leith, which plays HM Theatre, Aberdeen, from May 28 to June 2, and Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, from June 26-30. Featuring classic songs from The Proclaimers, this foot-stomping production, written by the acclaimed Stephen Greenhorn, will see Steven Miller and Paul-James Corrigan play fellow servicemen and best friends, Davy and Ally.

Starring alongside them will be Jocasta Almgill as Yvonne; Neshla Caplan as Liz, while the of husband and wife Rab and Jean will be Phil McKee and Hilary Maclean.

Artistic director James said: “Creating Sunshine on Leith over 10 years ago was a joyful experience. It’s such an entertaining and emotionally charged musical, which explores ideas of home and identity, falling in love and picking up the pieces when it all falls apart. “
