Student sports day was success

The Highlands and Islands Student Association has hailed its annual sports day a huge success.

Students from the University of the Highlands and Islands took part in a mini-Highland games, rounders and school sports day games.

More than 50 participated in last Friday’s event with students from Shetland, Orkney, Lewis and Oban.

Callum Stephen, vicepresident at the association, said: “I had a great time hosting the sports day. This was my first time at this event.

“It was great to see students from all over UHI, even Shetland College, taking part. We were really lucky that the weather held out for most of the day, and I can’t wait to see how much bigger and better the sports day will be in the future.
