Fisherman flown to care

A sick crewman in his fifties was airlifted to the Western Isles hospital from a German fishing boat yesterday by the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter.

The casualty was on board the 459ft long vessel sailing 85 nautical miles north of the Butt of Lewis when they called for help at 10am. His condition is unknown.
