Church event will be no small beer
Sir, – From time to time churches run social evenings to keep their congregations happy, but one I heard of recently seemed a cut above the rest.
It seems an adventurous Anglican church in the Midlands is having a beer-tasting evening later in the year, and a vicar known to be knowledgeable on the finer points of beer-drinking has been engaged to lecture on the subject. I hear they’re having some yummy grub as well.
I wonder how that would go down with Scottish Presbyterianism. Would certainly make a change from pallid tea and malted milk biscuits. It could be a winner! Keith Fernie, Drakies Avenue,
