‘Don’t set targets based on history’
Conference speaker Mark Beaumont drew parallels between his feat of cycling around the world in 80 days and entrepreneurs setting lofty targets.
He said: “I’m a massive fan of shooting for the stars and putting all your cards on the table. Know what’s gone before, respect and learn from people who have done it before you, but don’t set your targets based on history.”
Other speakers included Paul Forkan, co-founder of fashion brand Gandys.
Entrepreneurial Scotland is a network and leadership development organisation, with 700 members, providing opportunities to share experiences and develop skills. Its conference was supported by headline partner Cazenove Capital, with The Press & Journal, The Courier and Energy Voice as media partners.
