Kil­mallie aim to box clever with­out stal­wart

Kil­mallie will be with­out the de­fen­sive punch of Robbie MacFadyen for their Balliemore Cup home tie with Tay­forth as he is mak­ing his box­ing de­but.

MacFadyen is a mem­ber of Lochaber Phoenix ABC and is in com­pet­i­tive ac­tion for the first time in Fort William to­mor­row evening.

Man­ager Mark MacPher­son said: “Robbie won’t play in case he is injured a few hours be­fore his first fight.

“He’s an ex­cel­lent wing back for us but we ap­pre­ci­ate that box­ing has now be­come his other sport­ing love.

“We hope he gets a knock­out – and we don’t.”

To add to the prob­lems of the 2016 Balliemore Cup winners, for­ward Ar­ran San­der­son has a bro­ken hand and will be out of ac­tion for two months, while
