FA receives offer to buy Wembley
The Football Association has announced it has received an offer to buy Wembley.
Fulham owner Shahid Khan, who also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL franchise, has put in a bid worth a reported £500 million to buy the national stadium.
The FA said in a statement: “We can confirm that the FA has received an offer to buy Wembley.”
Khan, whose Jaguars have played matches at Wembley in each of the past five seasons, released his own statement which read: “The stronger the Jaguars are in London, the more stable and promising the Jaguars’ future will be in Jacksonville.”
