In­ver­ness Ath­letic pre­pare for first cup fi­nal


In­ver­ness Ath­letic will ap­pear in their first cup fi­nal to­mor­row when they take on fel­low North Cale­do­nian League side In­ver­gor­don in the Jock MacKay Cup fi­nal (2pm) at the Recre­ation Grounds, In­ver­gor­don.

Ath­letic have a full squad avail­able for the fi­nal and man­ager Shane Car­ling is con­fi­dent his play­ers can give their more favoured op­po­nents a game of it.

He said: “The boys can’t wait, hope­fully it will be a good day.”

Hill Rovers are the early pace­set­ters in Di­vi­sion 2 of the In­ver­ness and Dis­trict Am­a­teur League af­ter a 5-1 win against Cairn­gorm Win­dows while Dog House dropped their first points of the cam­paign when they were held 1-1

by Fer­ry­bache. Fortrose and Rose­markie Union moved up to third af­ter a 5-1 win against In­ver­ness Ci­tadel and Kor­rie de­feated High­land Ath­letic 5-0 while Bal­loan Com­pass and Cul­lo­den Moor Inn drew 2-2.
