New co-working space opens up for free user experience

-

Anew co-working space, believed to be the first of its kind in Aberdeen, is set to open its doors for free in celebration of National Co-working Day on Tuesday, May 8. Space2b, which is situated within Bon Accord House on Riverside Drive, is a social enterprise project that aims to offer a welcoming and dynamic co-working community for individuals, charities, business startups and smaller enterprises.

National Co-working Day is an initiative that encourages co-working spaces throughout the country to give potential users free access. Space2b is extending its own free offer for the remainder of the working week, inviting members of the public to drop in and try the facilities from May 8 to 11.

Those who go along will have the opportunity to view and experience the space on offer, which includes 20 flexible co-working hot desks, five fixed desks for permanent members, meeting rooms and breakout areas. Additional resources include a members’ kitchen, secure storage, WiFi and a virtual office service.

Karen Bain, development manager of Space2b, said: “The concept of coworking may be new to Aberdeen but it is already very popular elsewhere due to its creative and collaborative nature. It offers a number of advantages, allowing users to build a community, generate new business opportunities and network with like-minded people.

“We hope that co-working will appeal to many different people, including entrepreneurs, freelancers, remote workers and small business owners. Space2b can provide an appealing alternative to the solitude of home, or the busy environment of a coffee shop with its associated distractions.”

● Space2b will be open to new and potential users from 8.30am– 6.00pm from May 8 to 11. To find out more or book space in advance, contact mail@space2b.org or call 01224 608992.
