Beer ban led to car attack

An argument over a bottle of beer ended with a Muir of Ord man smashing a car window and endangering the occupants.

Catherine McAllister had gone to pick up her 27-year-old-partner Lee Jeffrey at his home in Drover’s Court, but Inverness Sheriff Court was told yesterday that she wouldn’t let Jeffrey in the vehicle because she had banned any alcohol in it.

Fiscal depute Ross Carvel said: “He lost his temper and smashed the rear window.”

Sheriff Gary Aitken deferred sentence on Jeffrey for good behaviour until October.
