Elgin gin to feature at Aldi

- BY KEITH FINDLAY

Produce from Elgin Distillery has been chosen to feature in Aldi’s second Scottish Gin Festival from Thursday.

The listing will see thousands of bottles of the Moray firm’s gin go on the shelves in 80 stores across Scotland alongside 10 other products from north of the border.

Aldi said yesterday the deal was worth nearly £40,000 to Elgin Distillery.

The gin festival is expected to contribute nearly £500,000 in extra revenue to the 10 distilleries involved.

Aldi said its inaugural Scottish Gin Festival last November saw featured products sold out within days, generating sales worth nearly £350,000.

Graham Nicolson, group buying director, Aldi Scotland, added: “We’re still toasting the fantastic response.”
