Compasses set to the east

Two Deeside athletes have been selected to represent Great Britain at the European youth orienteering championships in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, from June 29 to July 1.

Eilidh Campbell, 16, of Banchory Academy and Matthew Gooch, 15, from Aboyne, will be heading to Eastern Europe as part of an 11-strong GB team.

Both athletes are members of Mar Orienteering Club and British champions in their age groups.
