THE OUTSIDE TRACK

-

Having headlined major folk festivals around the world, The Outside Track have a fair number of fans waiting to see them play in Scotland.

The multi-award-winning band, fronted by four powerhouse women, like to celebrate female talent and act as strong role models for young women, and their music captures their spirit and vivacity.

Hailing from Scotland, Ireland and Cape Breton, the five members are united by a love of traditional music and blend fiddle, accordion, harp, guitar, whistle, step-dance and vocals. The band are: Mairi Rankin, from Canada’s famous Rankin family; Teresa Horgan, from County Cork; Ailie Robertson, from Edinburgh, and Fiona Black, from Evanton, while the only lad, Michael Ferrie, is an award-winning guitarist and composer from Callander.

● The Outside Track play An Tobar on the Isle of Mull on Tuesday (01688 302211); The Universal Hall, Findhorn on June 22 (01309 691170) and the Old Bridge Inn, Aviemore on June 23 (01479 811137).
