Kenedy not punished

Newcastle midfielder Kenedy will not face punishment over his wild challenge on Cardiff ’s Victor Camarasa, it is understood.

The 22-year-old Brazilian appeared to kick out at the Spaniard as the pair tussled for possession during Saturday’s 0-0 Premier League draw at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Referee Craig Pawson awarded a free-kick, but took no further action and it is understood that the match officials’ report has now been received by the Football Association and the incident will not be referred to a disciplinary panel.
