Rebranding also requires honesty

SIR, – Large-lettered rebranding on some Abellio ScotRail 125 trains includes the self-congratulatory “We’re building the best railway Scotland’s ever had”.

In this era of transparency, will Abellio ScotRail play fair and brand an equal number of trains with “We’ve just received the biggest fine ScotRail has ever had”? (P&J, October 23).

Better still, will Abellio ScotRail drop the infantile “best railway” nonsense?

To those of us with longer memories, it smacks of Jack McConnell’s toe-curling sloganising of Scotland as “the best wee country in the world”.
