Bust companies require new policy

SIR, – The latest report by KPMG shows that the number of small Scottish companies going into liquidatio­n has increased by a massive 32% to 679 in 2018 to date.

Rising costs are mainly to blame for this increase, notably the higher commercial rates and taxes being applied by the SNP in a forlorn effort to tax Scotland out of recession.
