Point gained from game Alloa deserved to win

- JOHNROBERTSON

Alloa deserved to win the game – make no bones about it.

In the first half they could have been out of sight. We didn’t get going, we didn’t pass it or move it.

They had lots of chances, with Mark Ridgers making a couple of good saves.

We spoke to the players at half-time about what we needed when we were on and off the ball.

We improved in the second half as the game went on, but we were nowhere near to the level we need to win games.

We had two or three good chances in the closing stages but in the end I’ve got to congratulate my players on keeping a clean sheet and getting a point from a game they didn’t deserve anything from.

I think it would have been daylight robbery had we come away with all three points.

We have been disappointed at dropping points but that’s a point gained.

I apologise to the Inverness fans who travelled down because we were nowhere near at it.

We have spoken about it and it boils down to the fact that in the last third you need a cutting edge.

We just don’t seem to have that at the moment.

If we want to be challenging for a title or up challenging for promotion, we have to have a bit more about us than that.

We just didn’t produce anything noteworthy in the last third that we have been showing earlier on in the season.

The players realise it, I realise it, and we need to find that little bit of magic we have lost in the last third. We need to start winning games again.
