Stewart is asking for some Buckie momentum

-

Buckie Thistle manager Graeme Stewart hopes his side can build on Saturday’s 3-2 victory over Rothes when they take on Formartine United at North Lodge Park tonight.

He said: “We know Formartine have picked up some good results recently so we are expecting a tough game, especially as we have another couple of boys struggling after that hard-earned victory.

“It’s an excellent surface at North Lodge so we’ll be able to get the ball down on the deck and play football.

“Apart from a heavy 7-2 defeat at Forres we’ve been playing well so we go into the game quietly confident.”

Stewart is sweating on the fitness of two defenders.

He added: “Unfortunately Craig Dorrat and my assistant player-manager Lewis MacKinnon both picked up knocks in the Rothes game so they will have late tests to see if they can make it.

“In addition, midfielder Craig Cowie, who has only recently returned to action after a year out with a cruciate injury, is out with a knee problem.”

Formartine United are expected to keep faith in the team that defeated Brora Rangers 2-1 on Saturday.

North Lodge assistant manager Russell Anderson said: “In our last three games we’ve shown good form and had three good results. As I said to the players at Brora, a win here doesn’t count for much if we don’t follow it up with another against Buckie, so the objective is to build on those good performances.”
