Carson targets high five against Swade

- BY DAVE EDWARDS

Highland head coach Dave Carson is taking nothing for granted when his side host bottom of the table Lasswade this weekend.

The Inverness side are sitting second in National 2 after last week’s 36-5 victory over Stewart’s Melville and Carson hopes for more of the same tomorrow.

Carson said: “We will show Lasswade every respect as even the teams down near the bottom of this league can pick up quite a number of bonus points. Lasswade have lost a few games but not by very much.

“We will prepare the same way we did for the game against Stewart’s Melville last weekend and hopefully collect another five points.

“We’re in second spot and one of our goals at the beginning of the season was to keep our home run going.

“We’ve now gone more than a year without losing at home.

“The boys prepare so well but I think the big thing is that on Sunday and a Monday they get their recovery and they’re ready for a full-on training session on Tuesday. That makes all the difference at this time of year.

“There is nobody injured after last week’s game so we’ll have the same 19 players plus another couple of players coming back so we are going to be pretty much at full strength.”

Looking back at last weekend’s superb 36-5 home win over fourthplaced Stewart’s Melville, Carson added: “All 19 players put a shift in and nullified them.

“They never really got into our 22 in the first half when we scored three great tries, and we just continued on in the second half.

“It was a display.” fantastic
