Chance to make up for defeats at home

-

Aberdeen Wanderers and Ellon have the opportunity to make amends tomorrow for their crushing home defeats last week at the hands of Dunfermline and Strathmore in Caley Division 1.

Wanderers host Glenrothes and according to former player Bill Glendenning, the young Groats Road players, will have learned a lot from last weekend’s 50-19 reverse.

He said: “They actually played quite well, scoring three tries and certainly didn’t deserve to lose so heavily. The scoreline was not a fair reflection.”

Ellon head coach Craig Parslow said: “There’s no question of panic here at the Meadows. Strathmore are in a different class but we are evolving and will continue to blood young players.

“There are two newcomers in the team for the visit of Alloa. We are training well, working to consolidate our position in the top Caley league.”

In Caley 2 North, leaders Highland 2nds travel to Aberdeen where they meet the ever-improving North Scotland Police, while Mackie FPs can put last week’s Inverness defeat – their first of the season – behind them when they meet Moray in Stonehaven.

Aberdeen University, the Caley 3 North leaders, entertain secondplaced Shetland at Kings College.

Aberdeenshire meet Aberdeen University Medics at Woodside; Huntly take on Kinloss Eagles at Market Muir and Stornoway meet Gordonians 2nds in Lewis.

In Caley 4 North, leaders Peterhead host Deeside and Dyce have home advantage against Moray 2nds.
