Students first to finish NHS’s ownBA

-

Four north students have become the first to complete an innovative trainee social work degree offered by NHS Highland.

The quartet have been working within the health board for the past three years, at the same time studying towards a social work degree.

It has required a great deal of commitment and hard work on their part, but has paid off as they have now gained BA (Hons) in Social Work.

They will continue to be employed within the teams they have become key parts of in the Inner Moray Firth operational unit.

Joanna Macdonald, who was NHS Highland’s director of adult social care at the time the programme started, said: “This is an innovative solution that enables us to grow our own talent.”
