Killie go top with routine victory at home

-

Kilmarnock have remarkably moved to the top Scottish Premiership after former Aberdeen winger Greg Stewart’s double earned a comfortable win over Livingston.

Manager Steve Clarke’s side are a point clear of both Rangers and Celtic, both of whom dropped points, before their visit to Celtic Park on Saturday.

The Rugby Park side have lost just once in 11, and have not conceded in four.

Livingston spurned several chances as they continued their run of not scoring on the road since October.

Dolly Menga made a menace of himself on occasions after returning from a two match ban but his attempts were unsuccessful.

The only negative for Kilmarnock was the head injury suffered by Kirk Broadfoot, who was carried off on a stretcher having collided with his goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann and been put into the recovery position.

Adam Hammill scored from inside his own half but St Mirren are now only a point above Dundee at the foot of the Premiership after drawing at Hibernian.

Hammill spied Hibs stopper Adam Bogdan off his line and incredibly lobbed the Hungarian from just shy of halfway.

Oli Shaw drew Hibs level after the break and Ryan Porteous did likewise from a corner after Paul McGinn nodded the Buddies ahead once more.

Neil Lennon’s Hibees are now without a win in seven games but climb a place to seventh.
