Boys hoping for further adventures

● Brigade bid for P&J minibus

- BY DAVID PROCTOR

Anorth-east Boys’ Brigade group is hoping a world of opportunity will open up if they win a new minibus with The Press and Journal.

The group from Sandhaven, near Fraserburgh, is made up of around 24 youngsters who gather in the village hall every Friday night.

Sandhaven Boys’ Brigade regularly explores the area around them with cycling trips, games of football and walks along the coast.

Winning the competition would mean these kinds of excursions would become a regular occurrence and would take place all across Aberdeenshire.

Sandhaven BB captain Andrew Mcleman said having access to the 17-seater Ford would mean more adventures and a chance to advertise the group’s activities.

He added: “I have had them away on a number of trips before and took them to Codona’s (on the beachfront in Aberdeen) and even for a walk up Bennachie and that is something we want to do more of in the future.

“If the bus happened to fall into our lap, that would be amazing.

“It would also mean we would be able to publicise what we do because people would see Sandhaven Boys’ Brigade written along the side of it.”

Tokens are available in the P&J until February 3. Groups can enter as many times as they like, as long as each form has 50 tokens attached.

All entries must be received by February 11.
