Dundee United gaining ground on rivals

Dundee United are just three points off the top of the Championsh­ip thanks to Nicky Clark’s late winner against Dunfermlin­e.

The Tannadice side, watched by new American owner Mark Ogren, took full advantage after promotion rivals Ross County and Ayr United lost at Queen of the South and Caley Thistle respective­ly.

Clark headed home the only goal against the Pars with nine minutes remaining.

Partick Thistle manager Gary Caldwell branded referee Andrew Dallas “arrogant” after his side’s 1-1 draw with Falkirk.

Blair Spittal had put the Maryhill Jags in front before new signing Gary Harkins saw red for a second bookable offence in the 74th minute.

Caldwell said: “We should have won the game but for another crazy decision.

Chris Millar fired Ton ahead after 12 minutes before Alan Trouten restored parity from the penalty spot.

The Wasps netted the winner after 78 minutes when a Dario Zanatta cross was knocked into his own goal by Kerr Waddell.
