Coasters boss says platform provided by point

Lossiemouth picked up their fourth point of the season in a well-merited and entertaining goalless draw at Buckie Thistle.

Coasters’ boss Joe Russell said: “It was really good to pick up a point and keep a clean sheet but we also had a couple of great chances to win the game.

“We hit the bar twice and young Brodie Allan was clean through with only the Buckie keeper to beat but he took it a wee bit too early and Lee Herbert made a good save.

“James McLaren also forced a good save from their goalkeeper, and Ross Archibald was clean through as well.

point which gives us something to build on.”

Lossie’s Ryan Sewell and Scott Campbell hit the woodwork in the second half but that was as close as either side came to scoring.

Buckie boss Graeme Stewart said: “It was obviously two points dropped from our perspective. We played all right in the first half but we were really poor after the break.

“We seemed to panic a bit in that second half and lost our composure.

“In the second half Lossie showed a lot more fight but in the first 45 minutes we probably enjoyed 80% of the possession but had nothing to show for it.

“I told the guys at half time that if we gave Lossiemouth something to hold on to then they would up their game, and that’s exactly how it turned out.”
