Weekend winners scoop P&J New Year cash prizes

-

The latest batch of lucky winners of The Press and Journal’s New Year Cash Competition have been revealed.

Every day we’re giving five readers the chance to win £100 by answering a simple question.

And if readers collect tokens through the week they could be in with the chance of winning £2,019.

Winners so far have been putting their winnings towards a variety of “treats” including holidays, clothes and meals out.

Alex Gordon, of Thurso, is one of the lucky few to grab £100. The 70-year-old said: “I’ve decided that I’ll be having a wee treat with the £100. I’ll be going for a nice meal somewhere near where I live.”

Mr Gordon said he had his “fingers crossed” that he might win tomorrow’s prize draw, and he has been collecting tokens all week.

And Diane Duncan, 48, from Elgin, has decided to spend the money on a romantic night away with her husband.

Fraserburgh resident Patricia Noble also has holiday plans – to Belfast.

She said: “We were planning a holiday anyway, so the prize money will be going towards that.”

Other winners in the latest draws were: Bertha Forbes, from Banchory; Hazel Park, from Inverurie; Eileen Gaiter, from Aberdeen; Graham Mackie, from Alford; Jacqueline Cooper, from Tarland; Innes Murchie, from Westhill; and Derek Fretwell, from Peterhead.

The final day of the competition is tomorrow. To answer today’s question, turn to page 19.
