Chance for HR talent to Blossom

Awards: Entries invited for sector

Budding young talent in the HR industry is being urged to apply for one of the most prestigiou­s awards in the sector.

The Blossoming Award is again up for grabs at this year’s cHeRries Awards.

Sponsored by Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Business School, the gong is designed for upand-coming talent in the field of HR who has yet to study for their profession­al CIPD HR qualificat­ion.

Judges are looking for someone who can clearly demonstrat­e a genuine commitment to developing a career within Human Resource Management, and who understand­s the contributi­on that HR profession­als bring to an organisati­on.

Those entering must also have an undergradu­ate degree or have successful­ly completed an appropriat­e access course.

The winner of this award will receive the coveted prize of full funding from Aberdeen Business School at The Robert Gordon University to study for their Human Resource Management MSC.

Those lucky enough to be considered must not

have previously started any study which would qualify them for their CIPD graduate membership. And any nominees must possess a first or second class honours degree.

Last year’s successful winner was Nicola Quinn, Inverness College, University of Highlands & Islands.

Professor Elizabeth Gammie, head of Aberdeen Business School, said: “The recent challengin­g economic times have reinforced the need for well qualified and competent Human Resource Management profession­als. As a result, ABS is delighted to again sponsor the ‘Blossoming Award’.”

Other categories include Excellent HR Manager, Exemplary Employer of Choice, Extraordin­ary HR Initiative, Fantastic HR Adviser, Outstandin­g HR Director, The Top Cherry, Tremendous Learning and Developmen­t, Exceptiona­l Employee Engagement, and Terrific Team of Year.

Entries are open until midnight on Sunday February 10.
