Golspie cruise to win over Alness

Golspie Sutherland boosted their title bid with a 4-1 victory against fellow North Caledonian League rivals Alness United at the Highland Football Academy.

Miller Mackay put United ahead after just three minutes but Golspie levelled in the 35th minute through James Mackay.

Golspie got their noses in front in the 70th minute when Ally MacLeod pounced and late goals from Eddie MacGregor and a Lucasz Geruzel penalty wrapped up the win.

Leaders Invergordo­n suffered a setback when they lost 2-1 to in-form St Duthus at Grant Park.

Robbie Murray headed Saints in front in the 40th minute and Scott Miller doubled the lead in the 71st minute from the penalty spot.

Arron Christle pulled one back for Invergordo­n eight minutes later direct from a free-kick.

Inverness Athletic came from behind to beat Thurso 4-2 at the Inverness Royal Academy’s 4G pitch.

Lewis McKechnie fired Thurso ahead midway through he first half but Dean Allison levelled five minutes from the break.

Goals from Ryan Dow and Calum Black put Athletic in command then Conor Cormack struck for Thurso before Phil MacDonald sealed the win for Athletic.

Halkirk United defeated Bunillidh Thistle 3-1 at Morrison Park.

Stewart Atkins gave Halkirk an early lead but Billy Cairns levelled midway through the first half.

However, two secondhalf goals from Korbyn Cameron and James Mackintosh secured the points for the Anglers.
