- BY CHRIS MACLENNAN

Police are appealing for information after a driver fled the scene of a road traffic collision in Tain, with the incident causing significant damage to a wall at the Highland town’s health centre.

The vehicle, suspected to have been an Audi RS3, failed to stop at the scene of the incident on Craighill Terrace.

The collision is believed to have occurred between 8pm on Friday and 8.30am on Monday.

Police have said the driver also failed to report the incident.

Parts recovered at the scene have led officers to believe the vehicle involved to be an Audi RS3, built between 2015 and 2017.

Sergeant Anna Johnston said: “This incident is likely to cause unnecessary expense and disruption to an important facility in the community.

point over the weekend to get in touch.

“We believe that the car involved was an Audi RS3 which would have suffered noticeable damage as a result of the collision and I would urge anyone who believes they have information relating to this vehicle to come forward.”

Any witnesses or persons with information are asked to call police in Tain on 101, or if they wish to remain anonymous, to dial Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

One local business worker said: “I didn’t know anything about it until this morning and nobody who has been in seems to have any idea either. The first I knew about it was when I read it online.”
