Two dead as Mini crashes into river

Two people have died after their car crashed and ended up in a river.

Officers were called after the grey Mini Cooper left the road at around 3.40am on Saturday in Lydd, Kent Police said.

Three people were freed from the car by emergency services near Dengemarsh Road and taken to hospital.

But a man and a woman, both in their 20s and from the Maidstone area, died later that day.
