European Tour golfer Robert MacIntyre turned out for Oban Celtic in their Mowi National Division encounter against Beauly at Mossfield.

The 22-year-old won more than £200,000 for finishing runner-up in the British Masters at Hillside just over a week ago but the keen shinty player donned the boots and helmet on Saturday for Oban Celtic, who are managed by his father Dougie.

It looked like MacIntyre was going to play his part in a win when Ross Macmillan’s first-half strike seemed to have won the points but visitors Beauly struck in the last minute through Finlay Maclennan.

Meanwhile, Danny Delaney, who is blind in one eye, made a two-goal return to help Lochaber come from 4-2 down to beat Caberfeidh 5-4 in a Premiership thriller at Spean Bridge.

Manager Michael Delaney, Danny’s father, said: “Danny wears a helmet to protect his remaining eye and he certainly came up trumps. He can play full forward
