We picked up three points but it’s not enough

- DEREK McINNES

It was clear we faced a good Hibs team in decent form and I felt they were the better team in the first half.

We were guilty of giving the ball away too often in the early part of the game. Hibs’ movement off the front three was far better than ours.

It was a good equalising goal, McLennan does well to beat Gray and it’s a good cut back and a good finish from Sam.

I thought second half we were very good, Hibs had a couple of decent opportunities but the winning goal was superb and our work rate and confidence in possession of the ball was much better in the second half.

I thought we were by far the better team in the second half.

We’ve beaten a good team, picked up three points and done what we wanted to do but ultimately it’s not been enough.

I thought when the post-split fixtures came around, you look at it and Rangers and Celtic are always the toughest. I thought nine points might have been enough potential, 10 certainly.

Beat Kilmarnock and the two Edinburgh teams, we’ve done – I thought it would have been enough.

Kilmarnock have managed to beat Rangers and that’s ultimately got them their 67 points and I think we have to congratulate that, that’s good shooting from them.

It’s so important for us, European football – and I’ve taken pride in us having that every year.

There is real evidence here of six years of good work.

This will be our lowest points tally, 67, but we’ve gone to the last game of the season again.
