PM Boris battered by fish foolishness
SIR, – Re the story “Johnson done up like a kipper in EU gaffe” (Press and Journal, July 19).
Boris cannot distinguish between his kippers and his scallops. He claimed that he had been handed a fish by the editor of a national newspaper. Holding up a kipper, he proclaimed that it was from the Isle of Man and was subject to EU food regulations and needed to be chill-wrapped before transmission in the post. However the Isle of Man is not in the EU.
Boris should ask SNP MP Angus MacNeil, from Barra, how one should post a battered guga to Nova Scotia. This is the guga “battering season” in the Western Isles which, being part of the UK, is a member of the EU, and subject to their rules at present. Christina Mackintosh Palmer, Aultvaich, Beauly
