Lawson delighted to bring striker Lisle to Formartine

-

Formartine United manager Paul Lawson is delighted with the acquisition of Scott Lisle from Strathspey Thistle.

The 21-year-old striker is expected to make his competitive debut for the Pitmedden club in the opening game at Keith this afternoon.

Lawson said: “Scott is a top-class striker and I was very impressed in the two games he played against ourselves last season, and I also watched him in another couple of games.

“He brings us something different to what we have already got. I think it adds more quality and depth to the squad and it’s great to eventually get him on board.

“Scott will share a car down from Inverness with Archie Macphee, Conor Gethins and Andy Greig. That is a good thing for him and it will definitely be a lively car.”

Keith have midfielders Scott Begg and Craig MacAskill suspended while defender Ryan Spink and striker Michael Selfridge both have ankle injuries.

Fraserburgh will be without suspended centre half Bryan Hay and midfielder Jamie Beagrie, who is offshore, will also miss this afternoon’s season’s opener against Wick Academy at Bellslea.

Academy travel without striker Marc Macgregor and midfielder Jack Henry who are both injured.

Lossiemouth welcome Huntly to Grant Park. Huntly manager Martin Skinner said: “I think Lossie will be stronger his season as they’ve made a couple of decent signings, including striker Kris Duncan from Rothes.

“I don’t think they were that bad last term. Yes, they did have a wee bad spell where things went wrong, but it took us a while to break them down the second time we played them at our place.”

Huntly are without suspended defender Glenn Murison and new striker Paul Esslemont, who is on holiday.
