CRAYOLA BRIGHTS

Brighten up your living space with some paintbox brights, writes Philippa Gerrard

Thought neon was better left with glowsticks in the ’80s? Think again. Vivid tones are set to liven up your living space this summer. Forget about neutrals like beige or nude and make your home pop with bursts of magenta, violet, cyan and lime. Whatever your favourite colour, there’s set to be a pumped-up neon hue for you.

Before you run for the hills (we get it – this is a statement trend), head to the high street and see for yourself the funky bright interiors accessories on the market.

If you’re feeling brave, you can layer neons together for a poptastic colour clash. Try a vibrant cyan blue wall paired with a selection of yellow or pink accessories. For a slightly toned down look, deep jewel shades of purple and red also match well with a blue feature wall.

If you’re after a real statement look, give brightly coloured furniture a chance.

A hot pink sofa will certainly make an impression, as will a coral armchair or lime footstool.

But even just a touch of the trend, like a fluorescent vase here or a teal lampshade there, can bring an injection of fun to your home.

So move over, neutrals, this summer it’s blinding brights’ time to shine.
