THIN RED LINE: SEARCH ON FOR DEFENSIVE COVER AFTER EURO ESCAPADES LEAVE THE DONS SHORT
The Dons had to endure a predictably uncomfortable 90 minutes in Tbilisi on Thursday night.
And while the performance level wasn’t great, the result was highly satisfactory and gives the team a real chance of reaching the third round of qualifying.
The two away games so far in the competition have tested the side and in both the players have shown the resilience required to come back from deficits, without hitting the heights of which they are capable.
Derek McInnes has, however, been left with a defensive headache.
With Greg Leigh and Mikey Devlin on the treatment table and Ash Taylor injuring himself early on in Georgia, it left the manager having to perform major surgery on his back four.
It highlighted that Aberdeen probably do not have enough cover in defence. Derek certainly wouldn’t want to have to juggle like that again anytime soon and it may be that he’ll have to add another player over the next few days.
