Brew and Bake with Tana Ramsay

Author, broadcaster and wife of chef Gordon, Tana Ramsay is a keen supporter and ambassador of the charity, Meningitis Now – she herself fell ill with the disease when she was 18.

She’s contributed a recipe for orange and poppy seed cake to the charity’s annual Brew & Bake fundraiser. Fundraising events can take place any time or place. Sign up to organise one and you’ll be sent supporting materials such as a tablecloth, stickers and posters.

Then all you need do is get baking, invite friends round and ask them to donate to the charity.

Find the golden cork

More than half a century after Willy Wonka’s original golden ticket, Prosecco brand Corte Molino has launched a similar treasure hunt for grown ups.

They’ve hidden one golden cork, along with a series of silver and bronze corks, among their limited edition bottles of Corte Molino Prosecco, which are available exclusively in Co-op stores.

Find the golden cork and you’ll win a luxury trip for two to Venice. Silver corks win you a case of Prosecco and bronze corks a £10 Co-op gift card.

Normally priced £8.50, the prosecco is on offer at £7.50 until August 14.

Aldi praised for supporting Scottish beef industry

A recent NFU ‘shelf watch’ survey revealed 86% of fresh burgers stocked on Aldi shelves were labelled Scotch Beef PGI.

It’s the second time this year the supermarket has been praised for supporting Scottish farmers, as an earlier survey revealed 96% of its fresh beef was labelled Scotch Beef PGI.

Meat labelled Scotch Beef PGI shows it has been sourced from farms meeting the most stringent criteria in animal welfare and natural production methods and the meat is fully traceable back to the farm of origin.

New Belvoir cordials

Belvoir Fruit Farms has added two new refreshing natural cordials to its range.

Natural Blackcurrant Cordial and Natural Orange Cordial, both made with 100% natural ingredients and more than 50% real fruit juice, both offer a delicious taste of the summer.

Priced around £3.89 and available from Morrisons.
