Hypocrisy of our politicians galling

SIR, – So Glasgow is on the shortlist for the 2020 climate conference (Press and Journal August 10). An estimated 30,000 delegates will fly in on fossil fuel powered jets and will no doubt be bused around under diesel power and eat meat, meanwhile telling the rest of us to reduce these same activities.

It was estimated that the 2015 Paris climate conference resulted in 300,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions, more than some African countries emit in a year.

I’ll take the climate seriously when these people do.
