Clyne falls at final hurdle

-

Inverness squash player Alan Clyne missed out on his first international title since 2017 after losing the Houston Open final in Texas.

The nine-time Scottish champion had not dropped a game all week and hoped New Zealander Campbell Grayson would be drained by his five-game semi-final victory, but the number three seed was fully recovered for the final.

Fourth-seeded Clyne briefly threatened a comeback when he took game three, but Grayson eventually closed out an 11-5, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7 win.
