New deals helping Deveronvale build towards bright future
Harry Noble hopes Deveronvale can reap rewards from getting a number of players tied down on contract extensions.
Wing-back Noble penned a new two-year deal with Steve Dolan’s side last month, with Ross Aitken, Kyle Willox and Matty Wallace doing likewise in September.
Inconsistency has been an issue for the Princess Royal Park side this season but Noble hopes tying down the bulk of the current squad can bode well for the future.
He said: “Right now we’re not challenging for titles but if everyone sticks together, we’re capable of pushing towards the top four. We’re a young squad but we’ve got some decent experience in there as well.”
Noble and his Vale team-mates are due to head to Buckie Thistle this afternoon in the Highland League Cup, which will pit the 24-year-old against his former club.
Elsewhere, Turriff United are at home to Highland League leaders Brora Rangers while Fraserburgh, on the back of their Shield win over Keith in midweek, travel to Fort William.
The match between Rothes and Nairn at Mackessack Park has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday with an 8pm kick off.
