Area worthy of heritage status
Research suggesting a single wildfire doubled Scotland’s greenhouse gas emissions while it burned for six days are truly eye-opening. It underlines the need for a more co-ordinated approach to preventing such blazes.
At the same time it shines a light on just how special an area the Flow Country is – both for the life it sustains and the environmental damage it shields us from.
