Man charged for preparing terrorism act

A man has appeared in court charged with preparing terrorist acts.

Mamun Rashid, 26, from Whitechapel, east London, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on November 14 after arriving from Turkey.

He stood in the dock at Westminster Magistrates Court and spoke only to confirm his details. Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot remanded him in custody ahead of a hearing at the Old Bailey on December 6.

Dermot O’Leary has said he is glad women in the entertainment industry feel less pressured to take part in lingerie photo shoots than they used to.

The X Factor host and BBC Radio 2 presenter said the push for his female counterparts to take part in such shoots in men’s magazines was “unattractive”.
