Tories in clear on NHS privatisation

SIR, – As in every general election, Labour and the SNP are trying to convince us that the Conservatives are about to privatise the NHS.

Margaret Croll (November 16) tells us that the “Tories will sell NHS off to US profiteers”.

Since the founding of the NHS in 1948, we have had around 44 years of Conservative government or Conservative-led coalition.

Surely if they intended to privatise the NHS they would have done so by now?
