Don’ t scaremonger over independence
SIR, – Some of the letters against Scottish independence are absurd, the latest being from Roger Hoighton (Letters, November 18) where he espouses Scots would need visas to cross the border.
Perhaps he is unaware of the long-standing position between England and the Republic of Ireland? There is no reason why a similar arrangement could not be in place at the England border. It simply takes political will.
I respect people have different views on this issue but they should argue a reasonable position and not instil unnecessary fears.
