Ross rallies Cove

-

Scott Ross feels the ruthless instinct that took Cove Rangers out of the Highland League will stand them in good stead in League 2.

Cove have dropped just four points from a possible 39 in their inaugural season in League 2 and hold a fivepoint lead at the top.

Ross was part of sides that won back-to-back Highland League titles, in which they lost just three league games over the course of two seasons. In the 2017-18 campaign, they won the league by 11 points before losing out in the play-offs, while there was an eight-point gap to second place when they retained the title.

He said: “We were winning seven or eightnil. We never took our foot off the pedal. Nothing has changed. It’s just the way that we play.”

Such an approach came in handy in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Brechin, with Ross adding: “With the talent we’ve got up front, we’re going to find space.”
