Hebridean larder in the spotlight

A new series of the cookery programme Seoid a’ Chidsin – The Kitchen Coves – started this week on BBC Alba.

Each show in the new series takes a theme, or a specific ingredient, from the Hebridean larder.

Presenter Ruairdh Munro said: “My crofting background and Uisdean’s fishing background means that we are both passionate about sourcing the finest fresh, local ingredients and we are fortunate to have so many on our doorstep here.

“It’s fantastic to get the opportunity to make such a variety of dishes and we hope we inspire our viewers to get creative in the kitchen too.”

The show is broadcast on Thursdays at 10pm and repeated on Mondays at 11.30pm.
